Description
Segesta, in the Trapani province of north west Sicily, was one of the major cities of the ancient indigenous people of Sicily, the Elymians. The Doric Temple of Segesta, on the far side of the valley, was built in 430 BC and is one of the best preserved examples of ancient Greek architecture in Sicily.
