Description
The ancient Greek amphitheatre at Segesta in Sicily sits on top of Mount Barbaro with views towards the Gulf of Castellammare, which is just visible on the far left of this panorama. The theatre dates from the 3rd century BC and still fills with spectators in July and August each year for the Calatafimi Segesta Festival of plays and concerts.
Segesta amphitheatre is easily reached by car from Palermo.
